The 2009 Advent Calendar

advent-2009

Being in the main a collection of articles for a selection of much beloved and respected wargame rules

(and perhaps one or two other more unexpected diversions)

~

Heya Folks!

After it's continued popularity in previous years, in 2009 I once again decided to run the Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar on OITW. For this year I decided that instead of running a mixture of reprints and new content to attempt to release a brand new piece of content everyday for the twenty four day run up to Christmas.

It was a very ambitious goal. I didn't realise how much time editing would take, let alone writing the pieces of new content I had planned. So the schedule was amended slightly and some of the planned releases did not make it online. However, thanks to the support of it's readers, 2009 still went on to become one of the most popular Advent Calendars run by Orcs in the Webbe so far...

Below you can see what was published, all original and exlcusive to Orcs in the Webbe !

Sunday 13th December
Today's release was originally intended to be a scenario for Wessex Games Panzerfäuste written by myself, sadly what with editing all the cracking new content submitted by readers I didn't have the time to write it. It would have been the first in a linked campaign based on the excellent war movie "Where Eagles Dare". This first installment would have seen some brave Orc lads landing the snow covered lands of the Dwarfs, trying to meet up with thier rebel contact whilst avoid enemy patrols. - Craig, Ed.

Saturday 19th December - Tuesday 22nd December
These days would have seen a variety of articles written by me which sadly like the Panzerfäuste scenario from the 13th I simply didn't have time to finish off. These would have included both Acts II and III of this years Dreadloque tale, The Goblin in the Smoke. As well as these two scenarios I was also planning a campaign system set in the dirty streets of Londinium using a modified version of the Dresda campaign rules allowing street gangs to fight each other for food and coin in the aftermath of the Mordredian Wars.
