Austin Powys - International Hobgoblin of Mystery in
'Dai Hard'
A Flintloque Scenario by CJ Hooper

Austin Powys - International Hobgoblin of Mystery Returns!
~
It was the night before Cryptmas,
In Kamikazi Tower
An evil young Ferach Elf
Was trying to seize power.
No one could reason with him,
Nor could they make him stop,
He was going to kill the prisoners
By throwing them off the top.
The Tower itself was of varying height
Such was the magic of the elves
You could work out its heights
Roll one of your D12s
This is the number of levels to climb
The last being the base of the leader
Who is busy grandeloquising
For he was a big reader.
His name was Lt. Gruber
and he had a bone to pick
Because the army of Wheeling Turn
Was getting on his wick.
The prisoners are all civilian
with one tied up on each floor
and with each turn they may be moved up one
and this is how you keep score
When a prisoner reaches the top
(Accompanied by a guard)
If the Negotiator fails a skill test
The prisoner is thrown into the yard.
A guard must use one of his actions
to move a prisoner along
or they may stop to fight our Hero
Who is here to right this wrong.
Austin Powys is in the building
Hiding in an air vent,
Roll a D6 to identify
Where his first turn is spent.
(obviously this must be lower then the number of floors)
Note he cannot start
On the same level as the evil boss
For it is at the top level
That Lt Gruber must be tossed
Over the side of the building
And to meet his end
Austyn Powys must save the prisoners
For themselves they cannot defend.
Once Austyn kills a guard
The Prisoner goes free
And out into the front door they run,
Out into the street.
Prisoners saved vs Prisoners Killed
Is how you keep the score
But zero killed ideal,
Zero and no more.

The Board
Suggested size is 9 inch by 9 inch floor tiles with at least two rooms in each and allowing for stairs up and down.
The top floor is fully open plan.
~
The Sides
Terrorists
One prisoner and guard for each floor
Lt Gruber at the top.
The Other Side
Austyn Powys
The Negotiator
Special Rules
The Negotiator is based outside the building. He may assist Austyn inside the building but can then not negotiate with Lt Gruber. Any prisoner who reaches the top with a guard, while the Negotiator is not outside negotiating, is thrown off the top and killed.
Lt Gruber can only die by being thrown off the top of the building because its Cryptmass and there are conventions to stick by.
Really Austyn would win by saving all of the prisoners, but saved vs killed may be another way of doing it.
Merry Cryptmass!
